Dr. Ronald S Acquaro
Dr. Ronald S. Acquaro a pediatric dentist and the owner of Children’s Dentistry of Manatee. He opened CDM in 1977. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida, and a dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from USF with a near-4.0 average, and received an academic scholarship while attending the University of Louisville Dental School. After dental school, he served as a Captain in the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, he did a two-year rotation through general dentistry, prosthodontics and oral surgery. After military service, he achieved a Pediatric Dental Specialty Certificate from an accredited two-year pediatric dental residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. This program also included courses in orthodontics. He belongs to numerous dental and pediatric dental associations and is a member of a prestigious orthodontic study club: the Florida Dental Facial Study Club. In his time away from the office, Dr. Acquaro enjoys boating, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Gerald M. Francati
Dr. Francati is a board-certified orthodontist. He joined CDM in 1997. He received both his dental degree and orthodontic specialty degree from the State University of New York. Dr. Francati is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and the National Board of Dentistry. Dr. Francati is director of the Cleft Palate Oro-Facial Team at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, and was an assistant clinical professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He also belongs to numerous orthodontic and dental associations. Outside the office, Dr. Francati enjoys spending time with his wife and their two teenage sons.
Dr. Mary J. Egan
Dr. Egan is a general dentist and graduate of a mini pediatric dental residency program. Dr. Egan joined CDM in January 2004. She and her family relocated to Florida from Denver, Colorado. Dr. Egan practiced dentistry in Colorado for ten years with her dentist-husband, Dr. Jim Egan. Dr. Mary Egan received her bachelor’s degree in health sciences at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to receiving her dental degree, she studied nursing for three years. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992. While in dental school, she served two years as the Iowa Student President of the American Society of Dentistry of Children and Community Service. In 2005, Dr. Egan completed a pediatric dentistry mini-residency program at the University of Florida. She is licensed by the Florida Board of Dental Examiners and is a member of the Colorado Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Away from the office, Dr. Egan is active with her children’s school and enjoys outdoor activities with her family such as tennis and sailing.
