Limiting Practice to Pediatric Dentistry
I am passionate about improving the dental health of all my patients. I love working with toddlers on up through young adults, and building relationships based on trust and communication. It is very important to teach as I work; to help each person learn how to best care for their teeth and gums, which will help prevent future dental problems.
With so many of the recent developments in pediatric dentistry, we’re now able to address dental issues early on and make the experience positive for the child. The reward: a child who feels good about going to the dentist and has a healthy, happy smile!
While I was in dental school, I served as the student president of The American Society of Dentistry for Children, which focused on educating local children about dental health through organizing school visits and health fairs. In my senior year, I was chosen as one of two students to do an internship in Colorado, to provide dental care to children of migrant farm workers. That was an incredible experience and solidified my decision to concentrate on pediatric dental care.
My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education
Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences – Marquette University
Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Iowa Dental School
Pediatric Dental Mini Residency – University of Florida
As technology keeps advancing, I stay on the forefront of dental knowledge. I attend classes on a variety of topics throughout the year in order to stay current on advancements in oral healthcare. Some of these advances include the use of digital radiographs to minimize radiation exposure, placement of tooth-colored composite resin fillings that minimize the amount of tooth that needs to be removed, and monitoring the growth and eruption patterns of children to schedule early treatment of problems and orthodontics. For my patients, this means the most effective, timely, and long-lasting treatments available.

My husband, Jim, and I have three daughters. We relocated from Colorado to Florida in 2002, to enable Jim to pursue his lifelong love of sailboat racing. Away from work, you’ll most often find me with my family, enjoying the great outdoor lifestyle Florida offers, especially sailing, swimming, and playing tennis
