On Being a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dentistry offers me the unique opportunity to directly affect people’s lives every single day. Being a pediatric dentist affords me this opportunity not just for one day, but for a lifetime. So often, parents will have a much higher level of anxiety about their child coming to the dentist than the child, and it’s my job to set those concerns to rest. I pride myself on building a foundation of positive dental experiences for your son or daughter.
Demonstrating all the new advances in pediatric dentistry not only allows your child to truly enjoy coming to see the dentist, but will also alleviate the anxiety you, as a parent, might have. We practice only painless dentistry in our office, and spend a lot of time helping children work through their concerns, at a pace they’re comfortable with. When I am able to help children reach a point where they look forward to their visits with us, I know I have done my job well — as a healthcare provider and as an educator.
My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition – University of Florida
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery

In addition to my foundational education, I am actively involved in continuing education at the local, state, and national levels. I have completed the rigorous, two-stage board certification process as a committment to excellence in my field. As a Diplomat to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, I strive to stay on the forefront of my profession in order to deliver the highest quality of care to my patients.
Local society meetings and study clubs offer the opportunity to share new information with colleagues. Continuing education enables me to stay on the leading edge of my profession and offer my patients the highest level of care possible.

I’m originally from Vero Beach, FL. My wife, Lori, whom I met in dental school, our two sons, Ashton and Avery, as well as our Boxer, Gracie, live in the Lakewood Ranch area of Bradenton. I enjoy spending time away from work with my family and friends, especially when we’re out looking for new parks and beaches to explore. I live and breathe University of Florida Gator athletics, and maintain a very active lifestyle. Our toddler, Ashton, keeps us busy in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota with play dates, pre-school and gymnastics.
I take every opportunity to be as active a member of my community as I possibly can. I think it is important as a healthcare provider to let the members of the community know that I care about them inside and outside the office, so I participate in numerous dental screenings, working alongside the dental assisting students at Manatee Technical Institute. I also sponsor and participate with my office in the annual Boo Run in Sarasota, Fl to help raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Find me on Google+!
