Meet Our Team!
Your child’s first dental visit is all about them...
During your child’s first visit, we will review their dental and medical history forms. We will discuss diet and home hygiene practices to ensure your child is on the right track. You will learn all about your child’s growth, development and upcoming dental milestones.
Your child will be introduced to our dental office with care and compassion.
The approach at your child’s first dental visit will be tailored to them as some children may be more curious or anxious than others. Their teeth will be cleaned, examined and a Fluoride treatment is recommended.
Age-appropriate X-rays will be taken and discussed with you in detail.
The first dental visit is not just about checking for cavities, it is about creating an experience. It is laying the foundation for positive dental visits over the course of your child’s lifetime. We pride ourselves in providing the absolute best initial dental experience for your child.
Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these
with you to your child's first appointment:
Your completed patient information form, insurance card & New Patient Forms
Regular checkups are an important part of
maintaining Your Child's healthy smile!
The American Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Orthodontic Treatment for Kids & Teens
The American Association for Orthodontists recommends that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. Early detection and treatment gives your child the edge - a much better chance for natural and normal development. One advantage of having our doctors for your child’s dental home is that we monitor their growth & development on a regular basis. Our parents truly appreciate having orthodontic treatment done in our office. This allows them to coordinate cleaning and check-up appointments with orthodontic appointments.
By working with the natural growth instead of against it, we can prevent problems from becoming worse, and give your child or teen a lifetime of healthy smiles! Studies have shown that people who have straight teeth are more likely to smile more. This leads to a greater self esteem which may lead to a more fulfilling life.

but for a lifetime.”
The Approach at Children’s Dentistry of Manatee
When you bring your children to Children’s Dentistry of Manatee, you can be assured we will treat them as if they were our own. Each child we see is cared for in a gentle, compassionate manner, in order to create long-lasting, positive feelings about dentistry and taking care of oral health. We know that if we can show your child that dental visits are a painless and fun experience, he or she will have a healthy, confident outlook on future dental needs.
From Dr. Bryan Morgan, Dr. Ronald Acquaro, and Dr. Mary Egan, through each member of our pediatric dental team, we are dedicated to providing your child with exceptional care at every visit. Your child’s health, happiness, and smile are always our highest priority.
Emphasis on Education
We believe in teaching each child about oral health and how important it is to keep the mouth healthy and in great shape. Children are naturally curious, so we use that to our advantage, and encourage their questions and help them learn in ways appropriate for their age. Teaching children about the proper way to brush and floss, how to make healthy food choices and why they are important, and ingraining positive habits at a young age, will all help your child have great oral health, and a healthy body, throughout life.
Preventive care is an essential component of our services. We know that stopping problems before they begin, and correcting small issues before they become large ones, is essential to optimal long-term dental health. So we emphasize early interventional care, to ensure your child’s mouth is able to develop properly.
Using the latest diagnostic technologies and processes, and employing minimally invasive and proven procedures that yield the strongest results, are always a priority here. We want your child to have great oral health and a beautiful smile for the rest of his or her life, which means starting with early dental exams and regular visits to our office.

Establishing Your Child’s Dental Home
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry encourages parents and other care providers to help every child establish a dental home by 12 months of age. Establishing a dental home provides some key components to dental care for your child including...
• Comprehensive oral health care including acute care and preventive services.
• Individualized preventive dental health program based upon
a caries-risk assessment.
• Anticipatory guidance regarding growth and development.
• Plan for acute dental trauma (emergencies).
• Dietary counseling.
• Referrals to dental specialists when care cannot directly be provided within the dental home.
• Referral at an age determined by patient, parent, and
What is a Pediatric Dentist?
A Pediatric Dentist like Dr. Morgan and Dr. Acquaro, is a specialist dedicated to the oral health of children and the monitoring of their facial growth and development. Our office is designed for treating children from infancy through adolescence, as well as the medically and the physically compromised.
Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education. We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. Our office provides all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.
